I bought this collection as a gift for someone who enjoys Dicken's books, especially his commentary on the society and goings on of the time period in which each book occurs. As the title for the product said unabridged, I trusted that it would be so. Unfortunately, the book really was abridged, as most of the narrator's commentary was cut out. This made it much less enjoyable for the person I gifted it to. David Copperfield was only a few hours long (four discs). Another supposedly unabridged edition of David Copperfield contains twenty five discs. If the description for the product had been different, I would not blame the manufacturer but the title clearly states that the collection was unabridged. If you do not mind losing this part of the books, an abridged collection will not be a problem. However, that was not the only issue. The special effects that are added to this fully dramatized collection are so overdone that they can often be a distraction, and make the story hard to follow and the readers hard to understand.I will be returning this product to find a similar but better gift. 1 pages
